A softside bolster frame needs to be stable and hold its shape, just like a solid wooden frame, but it also has to be soft and yielding to avoid pressure points on your outstretched arms and legs. It has to be capable of holding more than half a ton of water, not simply for the period of time it spends on display or for the guarantee period, but rather for decades – solid and stable, regardless as to whether it is free-standing or installed in a bed frame. Our tests have rejected the cheaper, hard types of foam as well as the thicker, unstable foam types and “special layers” sales promotions which conceal weaknesses in the material. We are one of the first manufacturers of softside systems to introduce our very own specifically-developed, high-quality “PUR” foam(polyurethane), specifically designed to be compatible with surrounding an ecological sense and easy to recycle. We are one of the first waterbed producers to employ a water-based adhesive. This is a special type of adhesive which replaces the necessary solvents with water. The “drying” process can then happen in the most natural sense of the word, free from chemicals. Once dry, the substance creates a waterproof, durable and elastic join.
